Fraser Allen: Review of the Year 2022

2022 – A ROLLER COASTER IN BUSINESS AND IN LIFE!

It’s been a hell of a 2022 here at Fraser Allen Estate Management. So much has been good and positive yet one cannot ignore the less than positive moments as well.

If there’s one thing we are at Fraser Allen it is honest and authentic. We will all be upfront and honest about how things are going both as a team and also as individuals within a team. For a modern, ethical business we believe it’s the best way to be! Even though sometimes that’s a difficult choice to make.

With that in mind, we’ll start with the less good things which have happened across the year:

*We’ve lost a couple of blocks. We’ve always tried to end a business relationship in as positive a way as possible. Sometimes a client leaves you because someone else is cheaper or something else has happened over which you have no control. We believe you should always learn from these experiences.

*Our MD Jodie has been the victim of a very nasty trolling experience on social media. Someone who we will not name, has taken it upon themselves to be negative about us, posting false information and negative reviews which do not relate to any work carried out at all. The palaver of trying to get these removed has been almost as stressful as the trolling itself!

*Jodie became very ill recently with sepsis brought on by a number of chest infections, as well as pneumonia and was forced to take time to concentrate on her physical health. We may be a small team yet we were all here to step up so she knows it’s business as usual for our clients.

    Now for the positive things:

*We’ve won several new blocks! We’re very proud to have taken on more new blocks this year. It’s a joy to get to know new people especially residents and to work with them to make their homes better than ever!

*We were shortlisted in various awards including Bristol Life awards and in several categories of the Property Management Awards. We also won Most Trusted Managing Agent in 2022.  As a team we’ve won several awards in the past and we know the value of being seen as a thought leader and ethical brand in our sector. We were thrilled to even be considered.

*Our team has developed. New operations manager Alice Baker was promoted within the business and gained new qualifications. This has allowed our MD to focus on business development and growth.

*One of our proudest achievements has been to align ourselves with the Hollie Gazzard Trust and Jodie has become an ambassador for the charity. Hollie’s Dad Nick has become a friend of the business as he campaigns to make life safer for women out and about. Hollie was murdered by an ex-partner outside of her place of work.

*As a result of working with the Hollie Gazzard Trust, we’ve started to talk to industry organisations about making life safer for lone workers using the Hollie Guard app.

*The app provides an easy ‘system’ for people to check in at locations where they are working alone. You can also sends alerts if they do not make contact within a defined period of time.

As you can see, the positives are in abundance. With this we would all like to wish you all a very Happy New Year!
