Development of 50-plus new homes in Bristol to be managed by Principle

By Flat Living on October 27, 2023 Industry News, News

A smart development of more than 50 apartments and houses on land in Bristol, where now-demolished council housing once stood, is to be looked after by Principle Estate Management.

Shackleton Heights is a new collection of two, three and four-bedroomed homes in Lockleaze, a suburb in the north of Bristol developed by Abri Housing Association.

Abri has now awarded the estate management contract for the 57 residences to Principle.

It is the latest in a series of contracts Principle has won from Abri, the others including homes in:

    • Dean Street, in the St Paul’s area
    • on the site of the historical Speedwell public swimming baths, on Whitefield Road, in the north-east of the city,
    • Castle Park View, a high rise scheme of 75 apartments in Bristol City Centre; and,
    • at The Old Brewery on North Street, Southville

Joe Jobson, joint managing director at Principle, said: “We are delighted to be involved with yet another fantastic new development by Abri in the great city of Bristol.

“We have worked with Abri throughout the design and build process to ensure that all maintenance and service contracts have been set up and were ready on resident occupancy.

“We are very serious about providing high quality levels of professional service for all residents, and planned the estate management very carefully with Abri’s project managers to ensure this was the case.

“Abri continues to have a lot of exciting schemes in the pipeline, and we are really pleased to be expanding our relationship with them for the long term.”

Sean Gill, the management company manager at Abri, one of the largest housing providers in the south, said: “Our new Shackleton Heights development is a superb example of how redundant council housing land can be developed into a high-quality residential estate.

“This mixed-tenure project includes air source heat pumps, electric car charging points and wild gardens.

“Residents have Cheswick Village on their doorstep for day-to-day essentials, plus the city centre just a short drive away.

“We wanted a managing agent with the right experience to look after such a special development, making sure our customers have the best experience and support in their new homes.

“We’ve been impressed with Principle’s quality input at our Dean Street and Whitefield Road developments and are confident they will now provide a dependable service to residents at Shackleton Heights.”

Launched in 2018, Principle has since grown into what is now more than 65 staff looking after a portfolio of more than 11,500 units at around 300 developments across the UK.
