The current economic climate has split the Property market down the middle. Stride’s Property recruitment specialists are seeing some companies cutting costs and reducing their headcount or withdrawing from the market, whereas others are investing and growing their teams.
Despite the uncertainty the market faces with the effects of an economic downturn, there is some positive news from the world of recruitment.
Stride, was established in 2015 and provides staffing solutions to companies nationwide in the Property, Facilities Management, Construction, Rail, Water & Utilities, Building Design and Highways & Transportation markets. Considering the current market challenges, we are proud to come out of lockdown bigger and stronger. Not only is Stride back to capacity with all staff fully returned from furlough, but we’ve invested in our team by adding 4 new specialist consultants to our experienced team. We’ve also added 2 new technical directors to provide expertise and further support to our clients with their recruitment needs.
In October, we revealed our brand refresh and launched our new website, which demonstrates our experience, capabilities, and industry knowledge.

“The developments at Stride are incredible. To see such investment in these times is almost unheard of, especially when parts of the sector have fallen on hard times. To come out not just still standing, but actually stronger is amazing!” says James West, Property Management and Surveying Consultant at Stride (pictured to the left, below David James).
Our approach to recruitment goes beyond just filling jobs. We integrate ourselves with our clients, functioning as an extension to their business to support their development and objectives.
Adding Value With IR35 Consultancy Services
Stride’s new Strategic Solutions team has diversified how we support our clients’ recruitment needs; delivering solutions and services that go above and beyond just placing candidates.
Our Engineering Programme Director and IR35 expert, David James, has been leading client consultations for the changes due to the IR35 reforms for both the public and private sectors. He has supported companies in adapting and preparing for these changes, ensuring a smooth transition. David’s expertise is also centred around client liaison and focusing on delivering the support that businesses need. With reforms coming in April 2021, investing in such expertise for our team demonstrates our commitment to our clients and enhances Stride’s capabilities.
“With less than 5 months to go until the changes in the Off-Payroll rules, it is vital that clients who engage with Ltd company contractors have their IR35 programme in place to mitigate your risk. Blanket determinations of all roles inside IR35 are in breach of demonstrating your reasonable care. It is not too late to manage an assessment programme to assess all your job roles and contractors to show their IR35 status, while proving your reasonable care via engagement processes and audits. Using a trusted, experienced partner to help guide your business through the process is recommended due to the lack of hands-on support from HMRC.” David James, Engineering Programme Director at Stride.
