Are You Managing a Block of Flats?

    We Want to Help.

Belinda Thorpe, Managing Director of Residentsline discusses the stress of recent events and what she and her team are doing to try to help their customers.

COVID-19 has affected us all in a massive variety of ways. Work-related stress, economic turmoil and the pressure of managing new regulations has been incredibly difficult to adapt to – understandably, many people are still trying to find their feet.

How can Manage Your Block help me?

For those managing blocks of flats, the mixture of work-related stress, finding ways to implement new regulations and their standard workload have meant that many are handling a lot more than normal.

We want to do our bit to help relieve some of the pressure, which is why we’ve developed an online storage facility for our customers called Manage Your Block.

We know that managing a block of flats during this time can be hectic, stressful and even more time-consuming than it already was. That’s why we’ve created an online assistance service designed to help you organise your insurance as efficiently as possible.

Our customers have their own personal account and can use the Cloud-based website as a safe, secure place to upload all their insurance documentation as well as many other functions.

This nifty online portal has been designed specifically for:

    • Directors and officers of Residents’ management Companies
    • Right to Manage companies
    • Residents’ Associations

What can I use my Manage Your Block account for?

Interested in getting a helping hand? Here’s a breakdown of everything Manage Your Block can do for you:

    • Provide a trustworthy online space to store and manage your insurance documentation. Whatever you choose to upload – policy wordings, health and safety reports or any other notices – you will have instant access no matter where you are.
    • You can store, view and update the contact list for all your flat owners in your block.
    • Residents in your block can send you alerts in case of a problem; for example, a power shortage, a broken lift or even crime-related incidents in the local area.
    • Store a list of contractors’ details such as plumbers and electricians, so you’re prepared in case of emergency repairs.

The point of our Manage Your Block portal is basically to collate all your insurance information in one place. It will help you organise your insurance to a much easier standard and will take some of the pressure off you.

On top of this, your account will also give you access to an online forum, where neighbours can discuss issues, the local area and the general wellbeing of the community.

Have you ever had to handover to another director or officer?

We’ve thought about that, too. Manage Your Block is a brilliant tool to have when you need to hand over information, as it collects everything you need to know about the property and is accessible to new directors through secure log-in information.

This is especially helpful as new directors may not remember everything first time around. However, if they’ve got access to your Manage Your Block account, we’ve made sure that everything they need to know about the property will be available to them in an instant – taking the pressure off you.

    What are the long-term benefits?

What makes Manage Your Block so useful is that you’ll have a full audit trail which covers the management of your entire block. This may come in especially useful for any legal proceedings which may happen in the future – having every piece of documentation stored in one place will help massively.

We know that you have enough to deal with without worrying about handling your insurance, and so we want you to feel as relaxed as possible when it comes to managing the documentation for your block of flats.

It’s a small step, but if it helps to keep your workload more manageable then we think it’s worth it.
