60 seconds with Rajeev Nayyar, Managing Director of Fixflo

By Flat Living on May 1, 2017 Interviews

This month we had the pleasure of meeting Rajeev Nayyar, Managing Director and co-founder of Fixflo.  Let’s find out what keeps him motivated, his proudest achievement and more.

What does your day to day role involve?

As the MD and co-founder of Fixflo, a large part of my time is spent with industry leaders in both the client and partner side to understand what we can do to help professional property managers to deliver excellence to their clients.

What keeps you motivated and enthusiastic?

What keeps me motivated is the knowledge that Fixflo helps 1000’s of people and property managers to deliver excellence, every day. Having spent far too many years as a real estate solicitor, it’s liberating and exciting to make commercial decisions that can positively help an outcome, rather than just advising on one.

What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in your career?

The most important lesson that I’ve learnt is one that my mentor, Jonathan Mervis taught me as I was getting Fixflo off the ground. The lesson is, to relish every challenge because once you’ve overcome it, it is a hurdle for everybody else.

    What is your proudest achievement?

My proudest achievement is redefining the expectations of repairs and maintenance as to the level of service an occupier can expect. I am also proud of how Fixflo has equipped professional property managers with the tools they need to expand their offerings.

Who in the industry has inspired you the most?

David Goldberg at Warwick Estates has been a huge supporter of Fixflo from when it was little more than a concept. His blend of commercial acumen, tech knowledge and IT literacy has been invaluable.

What ambition would you still like to fulfil?

Our aim is simple. If you want to search for something, you Google it. If you want a taxi, you Uber it. In a similar vein, we want to get to the stage where if you want to repair something in a property, in any part of the world, in any sector – you Fixflo it.

How does Fixflo Block help block managers?

Fixflo Block helps block managers to centralise and streamline on-site maintenance, giving them conformity, oversight and control. It allows for the reporting and resolution of reactive repairs, as well as the proactive management of planned and preventative maintenance.

What do you do when you’re not working?

When I’m not working, I’m spending time on the naughty step. This is all thanks to my toddler daughter, who runs an extremely tight ship!
