Fospat Access Solutions

Fospat Access Solutions are a leading, specialist supplier of high quality door access control solutions, utilising the latest and most reliable technology. They have installed and supported highly effective solutions in businesses throughout the UK, all of which are very happy to act as a reference for our service and support. A large proportion of the hardware and electronics they use is manufactured in the UK. This enables them to ensure quality, reliability and speedy after sales support. Their excellent level of ongoing customer support is the key reason why the majority of their new business is achieved via referral.

Their Solutions

They have two key options which provide a solution for every type of requirement:

1. Stand-Alone Solution - This option is used for a single door:

The door is fitted with an electronic latch release unit, installed to suit the current lock arrangement, plus a wall mounted “Reader” on the wall adjacent to the outside of the door. The electronic latch will interact with the existing latch mechanism. A small “Controller” is also mounted adjacent to the door. This is the main electronic controller for the system. A power supply (with back-up battery) is also mounted adjacent to the Controller. To gain access, a “Tag” must be placed in the proximity of the Reader. If the Tag is authorised to open the door, the lock will release for a short period defined by the system Administrator, e.g. five seconds. Exit from the area is achieved using the existing handle. Five Tags are provided for use with the solution.

The Key features of the System are:

a. The administrator can manage access rights for each authorised Tag user at the door control unit.

b. The Administrator has the facility to add further Tags as required.

c. The Administrator can delete a Tag’s authorisation if Tags are lost, misplaced, or if required for any other reason. This avoids costly lock changes if traditional keys are misplaced or stolen

d. Additional doors can be simply added after the initial installation if required

e. Full telephone and on-site support inclusive for first twelve months, and by Maintenance Contract thereafter

2. Multi-Door PC Controlled Option

The system is centrally administered and managed from the “Access Manager” software supplied as part of the solution, and installed on a nominated PC. The doors ware fitted with electronic latch release mechanism. A wall mounted “Reader” is installed on the wall(s) adjacent to each door. To gain access a “Tag” must be placed in the proximity of the Reader. If the Tag is authorised to open the door, the lock will release for a short period defined by the system Administrator, e.g. five seconds. Exit from any area will by use of the existing door handle, or using the Reader on the inside wall if installed.

The key features of the solution are:

a. Access rights assigned to a Tag can be controlled from the PC running the Access Manager software. These include:

  • Which doors can be accessed
  • At what times and on what days access is authorised to which people
  • Defining an end date up to which access is authorised – ideal for visitors
  • Doors can be automatically “unlocked” for defined time periods to allow free access

b. The Administrator can delete a Tag’s authorisation if Tags are lost, misplaced etc. avoiding costly lock changes if keys are misplaced or stolen

c. The Administrator has the facility to easily add further Tags as required.

d. Live monitoring of Tag usage via a PC, including Photo ID of user

e. Open any door remotely from the Administration Console by simply clicking a “soft” button with the cursor

f. No multiple keys or memorised numbers required – simpler and more secure

g. All tag usage is logged and is available in user definable reports (audit trail)

h. Automatic live fire roll-call printing (only if internal and external Readers are installed)

i. The system can be simply expanded after the initial installation

j. The richly featured Access Manager software is included as part of the solution

k. Full telephone and on-site support inclusive for first twelve months, and by Maintenance Contract thereafter

l. Helps compliance with UK legislative requirements e.g. Disability Discrimination Act
