After nearly three years as Honorary President of ALEP, Peter Haler is standing down to make way for Damian Greenish.
Damian is a highly respected figure in leasehold enfranchisement at solicitors Pemberton Greenish. He also co-author of the leading enfranchisement textbook, Hague on Leasehold Enfranchisement, the fifth edition of which was published at the beginning of July 2009.
Peter was the Association’s inaugural Honorary President and the engine behind its creation. Although a non-executive role, the position is pivotal in raising the profile of ALEP and Peter’s former role as Chief Executive of the Leasehold Advisory Service and his links in the sector helped ALEP to get a foothold.
Damian has committed to help ALEP to grow the number of members as well as expand its educational activities. “I am delighted to accept this position and believe that ALEP has a critical role to promote excellence, ensuring professionals are kept up-to-date with changes in regulation and procedure in our sector as well as adhering to the highest standards. Peter was well regarded and I hope to emulate his support for the association, as well as broadening its appeal.”
