ARMA elects new council members

ARMA elected unanimously three new Council members at its AGM on 14th November 2017

ARMA is governed by a Council of up to 12 volunteers elected by the membership. The ARMA Council reflects the mix of small, medium and large firms in membership. They give their time free of charge and meet at least four times a year to determine ARMA business. Council reports back to the membership through an Annual General Meeting and an Annual Report.

Richard Benson

Richard started his property career working for Dorrington Plc in both the residential and commercial division, transferring internally to a Group subsidiary owned managing agent, Fineman Lever, concentrating on block and estate management. In 1988, after eight years Richard decided to move to Kinleigh Folkard and Hayward (KFH) working his way through to his current position as Managing Director of the Block and Estate Management division.

With an excess of 14,000 units over 120+ blocks of flats, Richard has oversight of both the 15 property managers and their support staff, a variety of client requirements and a client accounts division with in excess of £45m held on deposit at any one time in over 450 individual bank accounts. With new and existing build, from large multi-tenanted sites, to 40+ storey modern towers, along with Build to Rent, Richard has experience in a number of areas that he hopes will be of benefit to ARMA. 

Lyndsey Cannon-Leach

Lyndsey Cannon-Leach entered property management in 2002 after graduating from University. In 2005, she joined Pennycuick Collins Chartered Surveyors, an independent property consultancy based in Birmingham. Following regular steady progression, she was promoted to Head of Residential Service Charge in 2013 and Partner in 2016.  

The department provides hands on management and a highly personalised service which has led to substantial growth and the department becoming one of the largest residential teams in the West Midlands with 15 members engaged exclusively in residential service charge managing 5,000 units in 150 developments. Lyndsey is a Member of IRPM, an Associate of RICS and has a wealth of experience in the First-tier Tribunal, Right to Manage and other complex management issues. 

Lisa Warren

Lisa Warren transferred into the Property Management Sector in 2005. She heads up the Client Accounting functions within the Residential Management Group and oversees the day-to-day activities of 50 staff, both on and off site, across multiple back office disciplines.

She is regularly involved in strategic projects within the business and has built up a wealth of experience dealing with contentious and complex issues relating to both financial and non-financial aspects of property over the years. In addition to this she has served on ARMA’s Technical Committee since 2014 and has recently been appointed onto IRPM’s Leasehold Working Group.
